Disagreement about political opinion, a UFC boxer, Colby Covington has suddenly called LeBron James a coward on television.
This morning, the UFC Fight Night match between two boxers, Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley, ended with Colby’s victory.
But there would be nothing worth mentioning and also unrelated to the NBA if Colby Covington did not forcefully call LeBron James a coward on television.
Boxer Colby Covington put the American flag on his shoulders after his victory. After the victory over the competition, Covington performed his usual media duty of giving interviews
But this time, he prepared quite well what he was going to convey and told the commentator to take a break.
Immediately after taking over the television wave, Colby spoke endlessly about his full support for Donald Trump’s re-election as US president and called LeBron James and many other athletes “cowards”.
“I would like to win this victory for those on the front lines and for the servicemen who have been fighting the COVID-19 as well as keeping the peace at the demonstrations. You are the ones who keep us safe, not the other talkative athletes. I’m bored up to the necks of these players, boneless cowards like LeBron James”.
Colby Covington is known as a “bloodthirsty” puncher, he used to have controversial statements and often created the image of a fierce athlete.
This time, he took the UFC wave to speak his mind in a very straightforward manner. Only Covington is getting mixed opinions.
Many people mentioned that although Covington called LeBron a very talkative type of player, James himself did a lot for the American community throughout his career, regardless of skin color.
Contrary to Colby, LeBron James does not support Donald Trump’s election of US president. Besides, James also constantly spoke up about calling for justice for blacks.
That’s what Covington has always been against and thinks that NBA or other leagues postponement is cowardice, color, etc.
It is not clear how LeBron James will react to this, but it would not come as a surprise if the “king” chose silence to focus entirely on the expertise.
He and the Los Angeles Lakers are in a very important battle against the Denver Nuggets in the western final series and LeBron certainly does not want to be distracted.
